THE TERRITORY
The olive cultivation practiced by the Nieddu family can be defined as heroic. They perform all tasks manually, a considerable challenge in a hilly terrain with steep slopes and dry-stone terracing, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Bolotana is a small village nestled on granite hills, overshadowed by the Marghine mountain range. This region boasts diverse landscapes, with its forests, olive groves, springs, and various watercourses. The olive groves are situated at elevations ranging from 300 to 700 meters above sea level on granite soils, enjoying optimal sun exposure and weather conditions. The surrounding
area is dotted with archaeological sites and artifacts, evidence of human presence dating back to prehistoric times.
